The Bonnefantenmuseum brings together ancient and contemporary art. The striking building by Italian architect Aldo Rossi shines on the Maastricht skyline. It is located in the Céramique district where the main entrance is also located. The Bonnefantenmuseum is a four-storey, E-shaped building with a detached, landmark tower on the river Meuse. The entirely zinc-clad tower is famously named cupola. Aldo Rossi, the architect regarded the museum as a viewing factory.<br><br> Every weekend, there are free guided tours of the highlights of the collection (Saturdays) and exhibitions (Sundays) at 11:30 am on presentation of a valid admission ticket. Reservations are not possible, max 20 people, full is full.<br><br>In the museum café, located on the Maas side, you can enjoy delicious coffee, Limburg flan or a healthy lunch (soup, salads and richly filled sandwiches).
