Following a period of renovation, Pietersheim Castle will reopen its doors in June. Situated in picturesque Lanaken, surrounded by nature and history, this characterful castle hotel invites you to enjoy a stay full of tranquillity, charm and hospitality. Here you can experience the serenity and grandeur of an authentic 12th-century castle, which has been carefully restored and harmoniously combined with modern comforts.

Pietersheim Castle is situated in a place where centuries of history can still be felt. The nearby moated castle dates back to the 12th century and formed the heart of the Pietersheim manor for centuries. Through the marriage of Beatrix van Pietersheim to Richard II van Merode, the estate passed into the hands of the influential De Merode family, who played a significant role in the castle’s rich history.

Today, that historical narrative is subtly reflected in the rooms and suites, which are named after notable figures from Pietersheim’s past. From romantic suites to cosy rooms beneath the sloping roofs and light-filled rooms overlooking the estate: every room has its own character and charm.
