This picturesque fishing village offers numerous cozy terraces and shops for delightful shopping. Its location on the edge of the North Holland Dune Reserve guarantees kilometers of cycling and hiking pleasure. Hotel Zuiderduin is a delightful place to stay, with the broad sandy beach just 100 meters away. At the foot of the dunes, you'll find a wide variety of facilities. In the hotel itself, you can use the sauna for an additional fee.
Stroll along the boulevard and enjoy the numerous cafes or restaurants. Additionally, you can visit the lighthouse on the boulevard or explore the ruins of Egmond Castle. Various cycling routes have already been mapped out for you in the region, taking you through country lanes and dunes. Egmond aan Zee is only about a 20-minute drive from Alkmaar. This city is also worth a visit!

The rooms are spacious and fully equipped with for instance 2 comfortable beds, a toilet, bath and/or shower, tea and coffee making facilities, telephone, TV and a balcony or terrace.
Upon arrival, enjoy an upgrade to a comfortable Standard Room. The modern room features a balcony, gallery or terrace, where you can enjoy the fresh sea air. A wonderful place to fully unwind during your stay by the coast.
In the morning, you can enjoy the hotel's lavish breakfast buffet. Start the day well with a fresh egg, pastries, a sumptuous salad or fresh fruit.
The dinner buffets are very varied with cold and warm fish, meat and vegetarian dishes. Of course, an extensive and surprising dessert should not be missing.
At Zenmoodz, the wellness centre of the Hotel Zuiderduin, you can have a lovely relaxing time in the indoor swimming pool. During your stay, you can make free use of the swimming pool. Swimwear is obligatory. Below are the dates when the swimming pool and sauna will be closed due to annual maintenance: - 2026: Week 16 – Wednesday, April 15; Thursday, April 16; and Friday, April 17
As a guest of Hotel Zuiderduin, you can use the hotel's parking deck or parking garage free of charge (based upon availability) from 12:00 on the day of arrival until 12:00 on the day of departure. Please note: Hotel Zuiderduin has 370 rooms but only 245 parking spaces on site. A parking space is therefore not guaranteed. It is not possible to reserve a parking space in advance. Registering your licence plate before arrival also does not guarantee a parking space. If the hotel car park is full, you can park on the street in Egmond aan Zee. Please note that paid parking applies. Rate: €2.40 per hour. Daily rate: maximum €14.40 per day.

Horseback riding
Are you a horse lover? Then Egmond is the place to be. The beach, the forests and the agricultural hinterland lend themselves perfectly to horseback riding. Horseback riding on the beach is of course the most beautiful. Feel the wind through your hair as the horse gallops through the surf.
Visit the cheese market in Alkmaar
The cheese market in Alkmaar is every Friday morning from 31 March to 29 September from 10.00-13.00. In addition, evening cheese markets are organised again: every Tuesday evening in July and August from 19.00-21.00 hrs. The Cheese Market takes place on Waagplein, about a 15-minute walk from the train station. The route from the train station to Waagplein is signposted. It is a nice walk through the centre of Alkmaar.
Getting a breath of fresh air by the sea
What could be better than getting a breath of fresh air on the beach? The seaside resort of Egmond aan Zee is suitable for long beach walks. Put on your walking shoes and enjoy a lovely walk on the beach.
