National Park The Hoge Veluwe
National Park the Hoge Veluwe is not known as the greenest treasure trove of the Netherlands for nothing! The Veluwe is known for its beautiful natural surroundings with endless forests and many different animal species. Put on your hiking boots and take a nice walk. This is the best way to explore the nature reserve and you have the greatest chance of seeing animals.
Wageningen
A weekend in Wageningen? Good idea! You will have a great time in this cozy college town. Wageningen is the city where the German capitulation was signed on May 5, 1945. The liberation is celebrated exuberantly every year with performances and the liberation parade, a parade of World War II veterans. Normally on May 5, Wageningen is thus by far the liveliest city in the Netherlands, but during the rest of the year there is also plenty to do. The university town in Gelderland has about 40,000 inhabitants, many of whom are students who provide a lot of fun. In the compact center you will find plenty of tasty addresses for a bite to eat and a drink. There is also plenty to see and do in the beautiful surroundings of Wageningen. The city is beautifully situated on the Lower Rhine, between the Betuwe and the Veluwe and close to the Utrechtse Heuvelrug.

Fancy a boating excursion? Then step aboard the Blauwe Bever. This safari ship sails out regularly from April through October for a riverbank cruise on the Lower Rhine. The boat sails from Wageningen to the weir and lock complex at Driel and along the way a guide tells you about the sights and flora and fauna along the river.
