Durbuy, the smallest town in the world

Durbuy is the smallest city in the Ardennes and was granted city rights as early as 1331 but it never grew into a real town. Until it proclaimed itself the Smallest City in the World. In the years that followed, many tourists came to the beautiful town. Today, Durbuy is still one of the most important places in the Ardennes and there is plenty to see and do. Durbuy, originally a medieval town, due to its location has barely grown in size over the past centuries. In fact, Durbuy's growth has taken place almost exclusively in the boroughs surrounding Durbuy such as Barvaux, Bomal and Septon. The city center of Durbuy has only a few hundred inhabitants.

Hiking and biking

The area lends itself perfectly to a relaxing walk through the beautiful countryside. Numerous streams and wooded valleys flow in the Marcourt area, making the landscape so unique. Put on your hiking boots or hop on your bike and enjoy nature!

Market in Marcourt

Come taste the delicious artisanal local products of Marcourt! Every Wednesday in July and August you can visit the summer artisan market here, where you can taste various local products. The market can be reached independently, but you will complete the day with a tourist train.

Chapel St-Thibaut

The religious building consists of two parts joined together to form a chapel. The building is located on a high wooded rock overlooking the Ourthe Valley. A steep path from the Ourthe at the foot of the hill leads to the chapel, passing the source of St. Thibaut on the way.
