National Tin Figures Museum
Art, craft and history; it all comes together at the Tin Figure Museum. In the tin figure museum the figures depict fairy tales, myths and historical stories. There is a collection of more than 100,000 tin figures of all shapes and sizes on display. The museum, located in the old city hall, near the bridge over the Overijsselse Vecht, where the tin figures tell stories about fairy tales, myths, fantasy and all kinds of history. Closed on Mondays.
Krishnamurti - Walking along forgotten paths
A circular walk through a beautiful, varied landscape, past places that played a role during the Star Camps in the 1920s and 1930s. The man around whom everything revolved was Jiddu Krishnamurti. A new spiritual world center was to be founded around this person. Ommen was the place where this was to happen, where world history was to be written. At the reception desk you can get more information about the walking guide with nature descriptions and historical background information. The walking tour passes by Landgoed Het Laer, Castle Eerde, authentic farms, hushed fens and surprising vistas. The walk is 15 kilometers long (can also be walked in sections). Starting and finishing point of the walk is NS-station Ommen.
